Terms of Service
Effective Date: May 20261. Acceptance of These Terms
By signing up for an account or using CollectiveSplit, you agree to follow these rules. This is a legal agreement between you and CollectiveSplit. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you should discontinue use and delete CollectiveSplit from your device.
2. The Services
CollectiveSplit is a tool for tracking shared expenses. It helps you organise and track activities such as recurring payments and shared purchases. We provide the software to help you stay organised but we do not provide financial or professional advice. We are not a bank or a money transmitter. All payments made between you and other users happen outside of the app.
3. User Accounts and Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use CollectiveSplit. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Since we use Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google, you are responsible for keeping those provider accounts secure.
4. Subscriptions and Billing
We offer enhanced capabilities through paid subscription service, Split+. All billing and transactions are managed by the Apple App Store.
- Refunds
All refund requests must be directed to Apple. We do not manage payment processing directly and cannot manually issue refunds. - Cancellations
You can cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID account settings. If you cancel, you will continue to have access to Split+ perks until the end of your current billing period. - Pricing Changes
We reserve the right to adjust subscription pricing for different currencies. Any price changes will follow the standard procedures provided by the App Store.
5. Experimental & AI Features
We may introduce experimental features or beta tools, including offline AI assistants designed to explain app features or provide summaries. These are informational tools and do not manage your activities or perform actual financial transactions. Because they are in beta and operate using predictive models, they may occasionally provide inaccurate information. You should verify any guidance independently and not rely on it as professional advice.
6. Acceptable Use
You are responsible for the content you create within CollectiveSplit, such as group names and activity titles. You may not use the app to post offensive, illegal, or harmful content. We reserve the right to terminate your account if you violate these standards or engage in abusive behaviour toward the service.
7. Limitation of Liability
CollectiveSplit is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We do not guarantee that the app will always be error-free or that the calculations will always be 100% accurate. You use the app at your own risk.
We are not responsible for:
- Any financial losses or damages.
- Disputes between users regarding split logic or payment.
- Any mathematical errors or data synchronisation delays.
8. Termination and Dispute Resolution
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to CollectiveSplit at any time for violating these terms. Because we operate as a global service, these terms are governed by the applicable laws of your jurisdiction. If any dispute arises, we encourage resolving it informally by contacting our support team first.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through an in-app pop-up and update the Effective Date at the top of this page. By continuing to use CollectiveSplit after receiving notice of those changes, you agree to the updated terms.
